Cherry Pie, made and donated by Kate Alfred with Pie By Kate, located in Sanger, TX.
This cherry pie recipe was passed down to Kate from her grandma Ruth. Grandma Ruth was famous for her cherry pie in Idaho when Kate's dad was growing up. Kate's dad is the one that taught her how to make the winner crust too!
Pie By Kate is owned by Kate Alfred, her desire with Pie by Kate is to give people something that brings back a happy memory or builds new ones. I believe in making good pie, that brings people together. Though I do most of the baking, this really is a family affair. Though she doesn't have a store front, she is a business that provides pies for holidays, special occasions, and your everyday pie cravings. She understands the importance of needing pie so at this time, she will deliver right to your door! Check out her website at: piebykate.com

Dessert # 10 - Spiced Soft Gingerbread Cake with Vanilla Glaze
Spiced Soft Gingerbread Cake with Vanilla Glaze made and donated by Beth Simmons with TX Cookie Conundrum, located in Valley View, TX
This cake is reminiscent of one of Beth's family favorites. Beth's grandmother on her dad's side, Florence Myrtle Sylvester, made an amazing molasses cake and the recipe was passed down to them.
History: Beth gave sugar cookies a try at a Christmas in July event for her church, they weren't bad for a novice so she put together some wedding themed cookies for her niece's bridal shower the following month. Looking even better than the Christmas cookies, she received rave reviews so her confidence grew and she started making more cookies for family and friends, eventually generating more orders. While the orders kept coming, within a few months her and her husband decided to take a leap of faith and she left her full time job to become a professional cookier at home. Check her out online at txcookieconundrum.com or on her Facebook page.
